Enrollment
How do I enroll my child?

Click "Get Started" in the nav. Choose your package, fill out the enrollment form, and choose how to pay — card, Venmo, cash, or check — to hold your spot.

What grades do you tutor?
+

We work with students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 across all core subjects. Tutors are matched based on your child's grade and specific needs.

Is there a long-term commitment?
+

No long-term contracts — we operate month-to-month. You can cancel anytime with 7 days' notice before your next billing cycle.

Sessions
Are sessions in-person or online?
+

All sessions are in-person at our Rutherford, NJ location at 75 Kip Ave. We believe in-person tutoring with our technology platform produces the best outcomes.

Can I cancel or reschedule?
+

Yes — we ask for at least 24 hours notice. Sessions can be rescheduled within the same billing month at no extra charge.

What subjects do you cover?

We cover Math (Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Calculus), English & Reading, Writing, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), and SAT/ACT test prep.

Pricing & Payment
What are your pricing plans?

We offer flexible month-to-month plans starting from $200/month. Plans range from 1hr 1x/week up to 2hr 3x/week. See our tutoring page for full pricing.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards, Venmo (@strivelearningcenter), cash (by appointment), and check (reach out first).

Is there a long-term commitment?

No long-term contracts. You can enroll month to month. The 3-month option is a discounted prepay — your choice, no obligation.

Do you offer sibling discounts?
+

Yes! Families enrolling a second sibling receive a 10% discount on the second child's plan. Email us at info@strivelearningcenter.com to arrange.

What is your cancellation policy for regular tutoring?

Cancellations 7+ days before the first session receive a full refund. Cancellations 3–6 days before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations on the day of or after the first session are non-refundable. The deposit is non-refundable in all cases. In cases of illness or unavoidable circumstances, partial refunds may be considered with documentation. Credit card refunds are subject to a 3% processing fee deduction.

What is your cancellation policy for summer programs?

Cancellations 2+ weeks before the program starts receive a full refund. Cancellations up to 1 week before receive a 50% refund. Cancellations less than 1 week before are non-refundable. The deposit is non-refundable. Summer programs do not allow rescheduling or make-up classes. Credit card refunds are subject to a 3% processing fee deduction.

How are tutors matched to my child?

We match based on grade level, subject needs, and learning style. After your first session we finalize the match — and if it's ever not the right fit, we'll reassign at no charge.

Will my child always have the same tutor?

Yes — consistency matters. Your child is assigned a dedicated tutor for the duration of enrollment. In rare scheduling conflicts, we'll notify you and provide a qualified substitute.

Can I request a specific tutor?

Absolutely. If your child has a preference, let us know during enrollment and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Student Motivation
What if my child doesn't want to be tutored?

This is one of the most common concerns we hear. Our tutors are trained to meet students where they are, build trust slowly, and make sessions feel less like school. Most reluctant students warm up within a few sessions.

How do you keep students engaged?

Our platform keeps content relevant and appropriately challenging. Tutors set achievable session goals and celebrate small wins, building genuine confidence and momentum over time.

How long before I see results?

Most families report noticeable improvement in confidence within 4–6 weeks. Grade improvement typically follows within one grading period. Consistent attendance is the biggest factor.

What if my child falls behind or struggles?

Because our teachers monitor every student in real time, we catch struggles immediately. The curriculum adjusts automatically, and we'll reach out to parents if we notice a consistent pattern so we can address it together.

Safety & Environment
Are your tutors background checked?

Yes — every tutor undergoes a comprehensive background check before their first session, including criminal history, sex offender registry, and identity verification. No exceptions.

Is the center supervised at all times?

Yes. A Strive staff member is always on-site. Students are never left alone with a single tutor in an unsupervised space. All classrooms are open and visible from the main area.

Summer Program
When does the summer program run?
+

Summer 2026 runs July 6 through August 29.

How does the summer deposit work?
+

A $200 non-refundable deposit holds your spot. Full balance is due by June 20, 2026. The deposit is forfeited on cancellation; full balance applies after June 20.

Can my child join mid-summer?
+

Spots permitting, yes. Mid-summer enrollment is prorated based on remaining sessions. Contact us to check availability.
